Representative Bobby Scott has been a strong advocate and supporter of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act (ACA). He also supported the Inflation Reduction Act, which lowers the cost of healthcare by reducing premiums in the ACA Marketplace, caps the price of insulin at $35 for seniors in Medicare, and lowers the costs of prescription drugs for seniors by finally allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices. As a result of all of these actions, the portion of the US population without insurance is at the lowest in history.
