While that work continues in Washington, Derrick is working to ensure that every Wisconsinite has access to high quality, readily available, and actually affordable healthcare. Under his leadership, he secured $1 billion annually for BadgerCare, obtained an additional $600,000 in federal funding for new ambulances in underserved areas of the District, and successfully fought for and secured $500 million to strengthen Wisconsin’s rural hospital infrastructure.
