Candidate for Pennsylvania House of Representatives (PA-15)

Healthcare costs are a major issue for working families, and there are things the state legislature can do to address them. As a State Representative, I would support legislation requiring more transparency from hospitals, insurers, and pharmacy benefit managers so patients can better understand what they are being charged. I would also support efforts to strengthen oversight of hospital mergers and consolidation, especially when those decisions could affect access to care in rural communities.

I would also look at how state dollars are being used in healthcare and support funding for programs that help people access care and manage medical debt. When legislation comes before the House that addresses prescription drug costs, hospital pricing, or insurance practices, I would look at the actual impact on patients and working families rather than just what is best for the corporations involved. Healthcare is a necessity, and people should not have to choose between getting medical care and paying for their other basic expenses.
