Jodi Borello

Candidate for Pennsylvania State Senate (PA-46)

As an elected official, my priority is making sure that corporations pay their fair share. That means putting patients and local communities ahead of corporate profits. To lower healthcare costs and hold major health systems, insurers and drug companies need to be held accountable.

In our rural district, we are well aware of the threats to our hospitals. We cannot allow massive corporate owners and private equity firms to strip healthcare services and access from people who need it. I will fight for strict regulatory oversight and mandatory public hearings before any hospital can reduce services or close its doors. I will also fight to raise revenue and backfill critical state healthcare programs like Pennie to ensure that the massive federal government cuts don’t impact people in Pennsylvania.
Our middle class residents continuously feel the burden of overpriced prescriptions. We must take on the big pharmaceutical companies that are driving prices up for our consumers. We need pricing transparency and laws to ban these hidden markups. Patients should not have to pay for this markup at the pharmacy counter.
