“In Pennsylvania, high-quality healthcare is either not available or it is just too expensive. Rural hospitals are closing or are in danger of closing. As a state senator, I will work to improve Medicaid, make sure people who qualify for Medicaid can get enrolled easily, and expand high-quality healthcare in local communities. I will work to lower prescription drug costs and protect our local healthcare facilities. Pennsylvanians need high-quality healthcare and hospitals that provide vital life-saving services right in their own neighborhoods. I will mandate that Pennsylvania hospitals follow the law requiring them to publicize financial assistance programs that provide free or discounted care to eligible patients, in an effort to reduce medical debt for individuals and families.
I will work to mitigate the effects of H.R.1 on our Pennsylvanians in need, making sure that people and children who deserve SNAP benefits receive them.”
