Jeremy Bescoter

Candidate for Pennsylvania House of Representatives (PA-117)

The healthcare industry is out of control. I plan on tackling a number of healthcare issues if elected. I want to ban healthcare networks in PA, requiring all insurance to be accepted everywhere. Citizens should be able to get the healthcare they need for the doctor or hospital they want.

I also want to put limits on how long an insurance company can take to process a claim, allowing medical professionals to process things more quickly because we should not be receiving confusing bills months after a procedure.

I also want to give people and medical professionals control when it comes to medical care. Your doctor is the only one who should be determining the procedure or checks that you needs. We should not allow insurance companies to use statistical models to determine the right avenue of care. If a doctor says you need something, they should have to cover it and stop making everyone jump through hoops.

Finally, I will fight to lower healthcare costs across the board. Healthcare is a right, and that means prices should be regulated. I think the quickest way to lower healthcare costs in PA is to offer a form of Medicare to any resident can sign up and use. We need to make sure anything PA offers is not half-baked and broken. We need to lead by example by making a good system that is efficient and easy to use. This would force private companies to compete with it, driving prices down, and making good healthcare accessible for everyone.
